CONIUNCTA® is a specialized manufacturer of botanical extracts for the cosmetics and food industry. With our own production facility, proprietary extraction technology and a portfolio of over 600 ingredients, we supply formulation developers and manufacturers in Europe and internationally.

AVE® Technology - Our extraction process

CONIUNCTA® AVE technology (Adaptive Vacuum Extraction) forms the technological foundation of our production. The process enables extraction under reduced pressure and controlled temperature conditions - ideal for obtaining thermolabile active ingredients without loss of quality. The result is extracts with high bioactive potency and reproducible specifications.

Liquid extracts - carrier systems for cosmetics and food

Our liquid extracts are offered in various carrier media to ensure optimal compatibility with different formulation concepts - for both cosmetic and food applications:

Glycerin based - Natural Origin Index 1.0, COSMOS compliant, food grade according to EU food law. The preferred choice for natural cosmetics, clean beauty formulations, functional beverages and food preparations.

Propylene glycol-based - Excellent solubilizing properties, food grade, economical. Established in formulations for the mass market in cosmetics and the food industry.

Pentylene Glycol-based - Multifunctional carrier system with antimicrobial support. Enables the reduction of classic preservative systems in cosmetic applications.

Lipophilic oil extracts - Available based on jojoba oil, squalane and sunflower oil. Designed for anhydrous formulations, oil serums and rich skin care products. Sunflower oil variants are food grade for functional food applications.

Each carrier variant is documented by a separate Technical Data Sheet - with complete INCI declaration, CAS and EINECS numbers, Natural Origin Index and regulatory status according to EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and EU Food Information Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011.

Powder extracts - for food supplements and functional food

The powder extract portfolio primarily addresses the requirements of the food supplement industry (food supplements), functional food manufacturers and producers of pharmaceutical precursors. The products are suitable for capsules, tablets, powder blends, bars, powdered drinks and innovative food concepts.

The extracts are produced with defined extract ratios (drug-extract ratio of 4:1 to 50:1). Depending on the application, standardized active ingredient contents are available - for example for adaptogens, antioxidants or specific plant metabolites. The specifications include particle size distribution, bulk density, loss on drying and flow properties for further processing.

The technical documentation contains test parameters according to Ph. Eur., heavy metal and pesticide residue analyses in accordance with EFSA limits, microbiological specifications, allergen information as well as information on novel food status, GMO-free status and irradiation - the complete database for your quality approval and regulatory compliance in the food sector.

Areas of application

Cosmetics industry - active ingredients and plant extracts for skin care, hair care, body care and color cosmetics. Anti-aging actives, moisturizing extracts, soothing active ingredients, antioxidants. COSMOS- and NaTrue-compliant raw materials for natural cosmetics certifications.

Food supplements (NEM) - standardized plant extracts for capsules, tablets and powder products. Adaptogens, immune support, vitality, sleep and relaxation, cognitive function. Documentation according to EU Health Claims Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006.

Functional Food & Beverages - Food-grade extracts for fortified foods, functional drinks, sports nutrition and innovative food concepts. Food-grade quality with full nutritional declaration.

Pharmaceutical precursors - High-purity extracts as starting materials for further pharmaceutical processing. Documentation according to Ph. Eur. standards.

Contract Manufacturing - Development and contract manufacturing

In addition to the standard range, CONIUNCTA offers comprehensive capacities for contract development and contract manufacturing of customer-specific extracts - for cosmetic and food applications alike. We see contract manufacturing as a strategic partnership - from joint specification development to long-term supply.

The range of services includes

Individual extract development - adaptation of carrier medium, active ingredient concentration, extraction method and organoleptic properties according to customer specifications. Development based on your raw material specifications or sourcing through our procurement network.

Private label and private label production - packaging and labeling under your brand, including full regulatory documentation for cosmetics or food marketing in the EU.

Flexible scaling - from development samples (from 1 kg) to industrial series production. Short lead times thanks to our own production capacities.

Scientific support - Our R&D team supports projects with stability tests, proof of efficacy and the development of claims for your product communication - whether cosmetic claims or health claims.

Product portfolio

The range comprises over 600 botanical extracts: from established classics such as Chamomilla Recutita, Camellia Sinensis and Calendula Officinalis to premium specialties from the CONIUNCTA® PRO line - including caviar, truffle and saffron extracts as well as rare orchid species.

For the food and supplement industry, we offer a wide range of plant extracts with a proven tradition: adaptogens such as ashwagandha and rhodiola, classic medicinal plants such as valerian, passionflower and lemon balm, as well as modern superfoods and functional ingredients.

All products are supplied with full technical documentation: Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in accordance with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (CoA). Food-grade products also contain nutritional information and lists of ingredients in accordance with food labeling.

Quality and certifications

Production takes place under GMP-compliant conditions with documented batch traceability. Our quality standards include: COSMOS and NaTrue compliance, Natural Origin Index according to ISO 16128, BSE/TSE-free according to EMA guidelines, SVHC monitoring according to ECHA Candidate List, full REACH compliance and HACCP-compliant processes for food-grade products.

The production and development site in Nuremberg guarantees short delivery routes within the European Union, compliance with European quality and environmental standards and a transparent, traceable supply chain. As an owner-managed company, we combine the agility of a medium-sized company with the quality standards of the international cosmetics and food industry.
