Through targeted pre-fermentation, plant materials are pre-treated in an optimal process environment. Various enzyme activities can further break down the cell tissue and convert certain active ingredients into a more usable form. This increases the yield of bioactive substances, significantly enhancing not only the efficiency but also the quality of the final extract.
Moreover, the entire cell disruption process is monitored in real-time by a TensorFlow-based AI application. This continuously analyzes all process parameters – including pressure, temperature, and shear forces – and automatically adjusts them to ensure optimal release of the active ingredients.This ensures that a consistent quality can always be maintained despite varying raw material properties and batch sizes.
In addition to the pre-fermentation, IKA® process systems ultimately ensure the efficient completion of cell disruption, achieving the highest purity and quality of the extracted substances.

3. Filtration and Extract Recovery
The extract obtained after cell disruption passes through a specially developed in-process filtration system. In this step, unwanted particles are precisely separated, resulting in a particularly high-quality, highly pure extract. This is essential for both cosmetic formulations and food products. Since the filtration occurs in real-time, it significantly contributes to the consistent quality of the final product.
4.Quality Control and Release
At the conclusion of the extraction process, a comprehensive quality control is conducted using state-of-the-art autoscanner systems. Both classical quantification measurements and AI models are employed to identify and accurately quantify specific active ingredient targets. At the same time, data sheets and analysis certificates are verified and generated in real-time, ensuring that all relevant information regarding the composition, purity, and stability of the obtained extracts is always up to date. Only when all tests have been successfully passed is the product released and used for further processing in cosmetic or food applications.
