CONIUNCTA® PRO CPG-17 Green Tea Extract is a liquid plant extract obtained from the leaves of Camellia sinensis. The INCI name is Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, the CAS number 84650-60-2. The extract is characterized by its catechins, above all EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate).
Production
The extract is produced with CONIUNCTA®'s Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is Made in Germany. It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each on an aqueous basis (Aqua). Preservation is glycol based. The extract content is approximately 30%. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of around 35 g of dried or approximately 220 g of fresh plant material. Raw material from certified organic cultivation is preferred.

Use in cosmetics
The recommended use concentration is 2 to 5%. The extract is water soluble and is incorporated into the water phase. Typical formulations include serums, day creams and sun care products. The catechins are known for their antioxidant properties. All carrier variants are suitable for cosmetic applications; compliance follows Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The assessment of the final product remains the responsibility of the formulator.

The glycerin variant is intended for food and food supplements. It is dosed as a liquid and incorporated via the aqueous phase.
