Technical documentation
CONIUNCTA provides comprehensive technical documentation for every product. These documents are essential for quality assurance, regulatory compliance and product development.
Document overview
We provide the following documents for our products:
- Technical Data Sheet (TDS) - product specifications, INCI declaration, composition, regulatory status and application recommendations
- Safety Data Sheet (SDS) - Safety data sheet in accordance with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 with all safety-relevant information
- Certificate of Analysis (CoA) - Batch-specific certificate of analysis with the actual test values of the delivered goods
Access to the documents
TDS and SDS are available for download to registered customers after logging in on each product page in the "Technical documentation" tab. The Certificate of Analysis is provided batch-specifically with the delivery or by e-mail after completion of the purchase.
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
The TDS is the central product data sheet for formulation development and regulatory documentation. The structure differs depending on the product category:
Liquid extracts
For liquid extracts, there is a separate TDS for each carrier. A product such as "Paracress Extract" therefore has several data sheets:
- Pentylene glycol base (product no. 61507)
- Propylene glycol base (product no. 61508)
- Glycerin base (product no. 61509)
The same applies to oil extracts with different carrier oils (jojoba oil, squalane, sunflower oil). Weight variants (250 g, 500 g, 1 kg) of a carrier are summarized in the respective TDS.
Powder extracts
Powder extracts have one TDS per product and contain additional specifications such as extract ratio (e.g. 10:1), particle size, loss on drying and detailed test parameters with test methods.
Contents of the TDS
The TDS includes the following information:
- Product identification: product number (SKU), product name, type, carrier medium, revision status
- Certification status: Conformity with EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and EU Food Information Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011
- INCI Names: Global INCI Name and EU INCI Name according to international nomenclature
- Natural status: Natural Origin Index (NOI) according to ISO 16128, RSPO status, COSMOS/NaTrue compliance, vegan, kosher and halal status
- Composition: INCI components with concentration range, CAS numbers, EINECS numbers and indication of origin
- Manufacturing process: Extraction method (CONIUNCTA® AVE Technology for in-house production), extraction solvent, standardization medium, DPR values (drug-to-extract ratio)
- Regulatory status: SVHC status according to ECHA Candidate List, food grade suitability, BSE/TSE compliance, CMR status, GMO status, pesticide and heavy metal compliance, REACH compliance, solvent residues
- Allergen information: fragrance allergens according to Annex III of the Cosmetics Regulation (updated according to (EU) 2023/1545)
- Product properties: Organoleptic properties, chemical-physical parameters (pH, density, refractive index), calorific value (for food-grade products), microbiological status
- Application: areas of use, recommended dosage, active ingredient classes contained, shelf life, storage conditions, packaging
For food-grade products (e.g. glycerine or sunflower oil-based), the TDS contains an additional page with a list of ingredients in accordance with food labeling, nutritional value table and additional information on food safety (irradiation, nanomaterials, GMO, gluten, novel food status, allergen-free, packaging conformity).
Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
The safety data sheet complies with the requirements of REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and contains all the safety information required for the professional handling of the product. In contrast to the TDS, an SDS can cover several product variants, provided they are identical in terms of safety.
Example: The SDS for Paracress Extract (product no. 61507, 61508, 61509) applies to all three carrier variants; the SDS for Paracress Oil Extract (product no. 61501, 61502, 61503) applies to all three oil variants.
Structure of the SDS
The SDS is structured according to the standardized 16-section format:
- Identification of the substance/mixture and the company: product name, product numbers, REACH registration status, identified uses, supplier details, emergency telephone number.
- Potential hazards: Classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, label elements, PBT/vPvB assessment, endocrine disruption
- Composition/information on ingredients: Ingredients subject to disclosure
- First aid measures: Measures in case of inhalation, skin contact, eye contact, ingestion; Most important symptoms; Advice on medical attention
- Fire-fighting measures: Suitable and unsuitable extinguishing agents, special hazards, instructions for fire-fighters
- Accidental release measures: Personal precautions, Environmental precautions, Methods for cleaning up
- Handling and storage: Precautionary measures, storage conditions, storage class according to TRGS 510
- Exposure controls / Personal protective equipment: Occupational exposure limits, eye/skin/respiratory protection, environmental exposure control
- Physical and chemical properties: Physical state, color, odor, pH, water solubility, flash point, density
- Stability and reactivity: Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, conditions to avoid, incompatible materials, decomposition products
- Toxicological information: Acute toxicity (oral, dermal, inhalation), skin/eye irritation, sensitization, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, target organ toxicity, aspiration hazard
- Environmental information: Aquatic toxicity, persistence, bioaccumulation, mobility in soil, PBT/vPvB assessment
- Disposal considerations: Waste treatment methods
- Transport information: UN number, shipping name, transport hazard class, packing group, environmental hazards (ADR/RID, IMDG, IATA)
- Legal regulations: Specific regulations, chemical safety assessment
- Other information: Revision date, copyright, liability information
The majority of CONIUNCTA extracts are not classified as hazardous substances according to the CLP regulation and are not subject to special transport regulations.
Certificate of Analysis (CoA)
The Certificate of Analysis documents the actual test results of the delivered batch. It is provided after completion of the purchase - either by e-mail with the shipping notification, as an enclosure to the delivery or on request via our Regulatory Affairs department.
Typical parameters of the CoA
- Batch identification: batch number (lot/batch), production date, best before date
- Organoleptic testing: appearance, color, odor
- Chemical-physical parameters: pH value, relative density, refractive index
- Microbiological testing: total plate count (TAMC), yeasts and molds (TYMC), absence of E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, C. albicans
- Heavy metals: lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic (if tested)
- Release note: Confirmation of conformity to specification through quality control
The batch-specific documentation is required for internal quality assurance, the preparation of safety assessments (CPSR) for cosmetic products and for official inquiries and audits.
