From selection to release: a highly developed process

1. selection and testing of raw materials

It all starts with the careful selection and testing of the plant materials. We attach great importance to quality and purity to ensure that only the best raw materials are used in the further processing. Whenever possible, we prefer goods from controlled organic cultivation, which are subject to strict guidelines and guarantee consistently high quality. For additional assurance, all certification and documentation documents are checked by AI-supported systems. Each material is also extensively analyzed in advance to ensure that it meets the high requirements of our production - both for cosmetic and food applications.

2. digestion under the influence of temperature, pressure and shear

The prepared raw materials are then fed into state-of-the-art processing plants. This is where the core process of CONIUNCTA® AVE technology takes place: The targeted combination of temperature, pressure and shear forces opens up the cell walls of the plant-based raw materials, making valuable bioactive molecules accessible. At the same time, the precise control of these parameters protects the sensitive structures of the active ingredients and preserves their natural effectiveness.

To make this process even more effective, systems from IKA® - a leading global manufacturer of laboratory, analysis and process technology - are used. A crucial step in this process is pre-fermentation, which is controlled by the IKA® HABITAT systems for bioprocess solutions. Targeted pre-fermentation means that plant materials are pre-treated in an optimum process environment. Various enzyme activities can further break down the cell tissue and convert certain active ingredients into a more usable form. This increases the yield of bioactive substances, which not only significantly increases the efficiency but also the quality of the subsequent extract.

In addition, the entire cell disruption process is monitored in real time by a TensorFlow-supported AI application. This continuously analyzes all process parameters - including pressure, temperature and shear forces - and automatically adjusts them to ensure optimal release of the active ingredients. This ensures consistent quality despite varying raw material properties and batch sizes.

In addition to pre-fermentation, IKA® process systems also ensure that cell disruption is completed efficiently so that the extracts obtained are of the highest purity and quality.

3. filtration and extract discharge

The extract obtained after cell disruption passes through a specially developed in-process filter system. In this step, unwanted particles are precisely separated, resulting in a particularly high-quality, high-purity extract. This is essential for both cosmetic formulations and food products. As filtration takes place in real time, it contributes significantly to the consistent quality of the end product.

4 Quality control and release

At the end of the extraction process, comprehensive quality control is carried out using state-of-the-art autoscanner systems. Both conventional quantification measurements and AI models are used to identify and precisely quantify specific active ingredient targets. At the same time, data sheets and certificates of analysis are checked and created in real time so that all relevant information on the composition, purity and stability of the extracts obtained is always up to date. Only when all tests have been successfully passed is the product released and used for further processing in cosmetic or food applications.
