INCI: Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract. The hibiscus powder extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa, CAS 84775-96-2) is characterized by intensive anthocyanin pigmentation and a high content of organic acids. Hibiscus acid and delphinidins define the characteristic profile.
Application in the cosmetics industry
Cosmetic applications of hibiscus powder extract utilize the antioxidant and skin tone balancing properties. The natural red coloration is suitable for lip care and cheek pigments. Typical formulations include anti-aging serums, masks and hair care. The acidic structure requires pH control; stability at pH 3-5.
