Liquid food supplements: development and contract manufacturing
CONIUNCTA® develops and manufactures liquid food supplements in Nuremberg: syrups, drinking vials and shots, drops, oral sprays and concentrates. They are based on botanical extracts from our own extraction. Formulation, manufacturing, analysis and labelling are handled by a single provider, with a specification and certificate of analysis (CoA) for every batch.
For brand owners, we provide contract manufacturing through to the filled product under your brand, with filling carried out by our filling partner in Germany. For manufacturers and fillers, we supply bulk, premixes and botanical complexes on an industrial scale.
Series production at industrial scale
We manufacture at industrial scale in Nuremberg. Every series starts with a pilot batch at production scale, and each batch goes to filling only after analysis.
Brand owners receive the filled product through our filling partner in Germany. Manufacturers and fillers source bulk, premixes and botanical complexes in industrial containers.
Process
From briefing to series production
-
01
Briefing
Target group, daily dose, format, flavour, target market and desired claims. A non-disclosure agreement is available on request.
-
02
Formulation and lab samples
We develop the formulation and produce lab samples. A test panel assesses the sensory profile, and we make adjustments until approval.
-
03
Specification and shelf life
Specification, manufacturing instructions and a proposed best-before date based on storage tests.
-
04
Pilot batch
First batch at production scale. We measure density, pH, water activity, viscosity and microbiology.
-
05
Series production in Nuremberg
Manufacturing at industrial scale, with every batch released with a certificate of analysis.
-
06
Filling and delivery
Filled by our filling partner in Germany or supplied as bulk for filling at your site.

Botanical extracts from our own production
The botanical extracts in our formulations come from our Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). For liquid food supplements we mainly use glycerin extracts: alcohol-free, water-soluble and ready for direct processing. Every extract comes with a technical data sheet, a Claim Data Sheet with lead marker and a batch certificate of analysis.
If an extract is not in our range, we develop it to your specification. View extracts for food · Extracts to specification
Labelling and regulatory affairs from a single source
On request, we prepare the documentation your product needs for the EU market:
- List of ingredients with emphasised allergens and nutrition information in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011
- Content per daily dose with percentage of the nutrient reference value (NRV) and the mandatory statements of the German Food Supplements Regulation (NemV)
- Review of planned claims against Regulations (EC) No 1924/2006 and (EU) No 432/2012, including the status of botanical claims ("on hold")
- Novel food status of all ingredients and comparison of dosages with the maximum level proposals of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR)
- Documentation for the notification to the competent authority (in Germany: BVL, Section 5 NemV), which you submit as the food business operator placing the product on the market
Labels are created in NUTRITUS, our system for labelling foods and food supplements.
Analysis and release of every batch
Before release, we test every batch: pH, density, water activity and microbiology, and on request the content of vitamins and lead markers. The certificate of analysis states the batch and analysis date and accompanies every delivery.

Getting started: the development package
Formulation development, two lab samples, specification and draft label at a fixed price. If the project goes into series production, we credit the amount.
Frequently asked questions
What is your minimum quantity?
What is your minimum quantity?
We manufacture on an industrial scale. The first production run is preceded by a pilot batch at production scale. We are not the right partner for small runs at bottle scale.
Do you also fill?
Do you also fill?
Yes, through our filling partner in Germany, as private label under your brand. We agree containers, closures and labels with you. Alternatively, we supply bulk for filling at your site or by your contract filler.
Can I bring my own formulation?
Can I bring my own formulation?
Yes. We check it for marketability, shelf life and manufacturability, then transfer it into production or propose adjustments.
Who owns the formulation?
Who owns the formulation?
We agree the rights to the formulation with you in writing before the project starts.
Is it possible without preservatives or alcohol?
Is it possible without preservatives or alcohol?
In many cases, yes: through water activity, pH and a heating step, using glycerin extracts instead of alcoholic extracts. The storage test and microbiology show what is possible for your formulation.
Are vegan formulations possible?
Are vegan formulations possible?
Yes, if all ingredients allow it. Honey, propolis and vitamin D3 from lanolin, for example, are not vegan. Plant-based alternatives exist for many ingredients.
Which claims can I put on the product?
Which claims can I put on the product?
Health claims are only permitted if they are authorised and your product meets the conditions of use, or if a transitional rule applies, as with many claims on botanical substances (‘on hold’). We check your planned claims against Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 and Regulation (EU) No 432/2012.
Who notifies the competent authority?
Who notifies the competent authority?
The notification to the competent authority (in Germany: BVL, Section 5 NemV) is submitted by whoever places the product on the market in Germany under their own name, usually you as the brand owner. We compile the documentation required for this.
What does development cost?
What does development cost?
That depends on the format and formulation. To get started, we offer a fixed-price development package, which is credited against a production order.
Do you treat projects confidentially?
Do you treat projects confidentially?
