FAQ
FAQ

INCI: Arnica Montana Flower Extract. Arnica Extract is a liquid plant extract from the flowers of arnica (Arnica montana, CAS 68990-11-4). Its characteristic constituents are the sesquiterpene lactones centred on helenalin, accompanied by flavonoids and polysaccharides. CONIUNCTA supplies this cosmetic raw material in three carrier variants.
Manufacturing
Production uses CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30 percent. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic components of roughly 35 grams of dried or about 220 grams of fresh plant material. The available carriers are glycerin, propylene glycol and pentylene glycol, each based on Aqua (Water). Preservation is glycol-based. The raw material is Made in Germany.

Application in cosmetics
The typical use concentration is 2 to 5 percent. The aqueous extract is free from essential oils and therefore free from declarable fragrance allergens. Arnica Extract is used in formulations for sports and massage products, for example in gels. Thanks to its good water solubility, it can be incorporated into aqueous and water-containing systems. The raw material is intended exclusively for cosmetic applications and falls under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
