Bloodroot Extract (INCI: Potentilla Erecta Root Extract) is an aqueous plant extract obtained from the root of Potentilla erecta, also known as tormentil. As lead markers, the tannin-rich extract contains catechin and gallocatechin tannins (CAS 90083-09-3). CONIUNCTA supplies Bloodroot Extract as a B2B raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
The extract is produced by Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is Made in Germany. It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol and pentylene glycol, each on an aqueous basis (Aqua). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30 %. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of around 35 g of dried or around 220 g of fresh plant material. Preservation is glycol based.
