FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Lady's mantle oil extract (INCI: Alchemilla Vulgaris Extract) is the oil-soluble extract form of European lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris). The primary markers are ellagitannins, calculated as ellagic acid. The extract delivers the lipophilic constituents of the plant in a cosmetic carrier oil and is a raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
The extract is obtained using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany). The extract content is approximately 30%. One kilogram of extract contains the lipophilic constituents of about 35 g of dried or about 220 g of fresh plant material. Available carrier oils are jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), squalane or sunflower oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil).

Use in cosmetics
Lady's mantle oil extract is typically used at a concentration of 1 to 3%. The tannins it contains give the raw material astringent properties. The oil extract is readily oil-soluble and is incorporated into the oil phase. It is used in formulations for firming body care, in body oils and creams. All carrier variants are suitable for cosmetic applications.
Use in food
For food applications, the variant with sunflower oil as the carrier oil is available. It is incorporated in an oil-soluble form; the dosage depends on the respective recipe.
