One sample per customer and article; for PRO extracts the sample is considerably smaller than 250 g (approx. 50 g). With the sample you receive a code that credits €49 towards your next purchase. Licorice Root Extract (INCI: Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, CAS 84775-66-6), also known as Extractum Liquiritiae, is a liquid botanical extract obtained from the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra. Characteristic constituents are glabridin and glycyrrhizin. CONIUNCTA supplies the licorice root extract as a B2B raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.

The extract is obtained using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is Made in Germany. The extract content is approx. 30 % regardless of the variant. 1 kg of extract contains the hydrophilic or lipophilic constituents of approx. 35 g of dried or approx. 220 g of fresh plant material. Available carrier variants are Glycerin, Propylene Glycol or Pentylene Glycol, each combined with Aqua.

Application in Cosmetics
The typical use concentration is 2 to 5 %. In cosmetic formulations, licorice root extract is used for its conditioning, balancing and astringent properties. It is also used in pore-refining formulations and for a plump skin appearance. The aqueous extract is free of essential oils and therefore free of declarable fragrance allergens.
Application in Food
The raw material is also suitable for the food industry. For food-grade applications, glycerin serves as the carrier. The ingredient declaration reads: glycerin or (water, Propylene Glycol or Pentylene Glycol).
