FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Passion fruit oil extract is a lipophilic plant extract obtained from the seeds of the passion fruit (Passiflora edulis). INCI: Passiflora Edulis Seed Extract. The primary marker is linoleic acid; the extract also contains passiflorins and flavonoids. CONIUNCTA supplies the passion fruit extract as a raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.

The extract is produced using AVE technology (Adaptive Vacuum Extraction), Made in Germany. Three carrier oils are available: jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), squalane or sunflower oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is approx. 30 percent: 1 kg of extract contains the lipophilic constituents of approx. 35 g of dried or approx. 220 g of fresh plant material. Preservation is oil-based.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between passion fruit oil extract and Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil?
Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil is the INCI name for pure passion fruit seed oil. Our raw material carries the INCI Passiflora Edulis Seed Extract: an extract of the seeds on a carrier oil (jojoba oil, squalane or sunflower oil) with an extract content of approx. 30 percent and linoleic acid as the primary marker.
In which carrier oils is the passion fruit extract available?
There are three variants: jojoba oil, squalane and sunflower oil. All variants are suitable for cosmetics; for food applications, the sunflower oil variant is intended.
Is the extract suitable for a passion fruit bath oil?
Yes. The extract is readily soluble in oil and is already supplied on an oil carrier. It can therefore be incorporated into bath oils and other anhydrous oil formulations; the recommended use level is 1 to 3 percent.
How is passion fruit oil extract stored and what is its shelf life?
When stored dry between 10 and 30 °C in the original sealed container, the shelf life is 24 months. Depending on temperature, changes in color or slight turbidity may occur. Any precipitates can be removed by filtration; the quality of the product remains unaffected.
Is the extract vegan and which documents are available?
The extract is vegan. TDS for each carrier variant, SDS and claim documentation are available for download; the certificate of analysis (CoA) is available after login. B2B terms and volume pricing are also available after login.
