FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Primrose Extract (INCI: Primula Elatior Extract) is a glycol-based plant extract obtained from the cowslip (Primula elatior). Its characteristic markers are triterpene saponins (Primula saponins), flavonoids and phenol glycosides. CONIUNCTA supplies the raw material to formulators in the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
The extract is produced using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is Made in Germany. It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is approximately 30%. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of around 35 g of dried or 220 g of fresh plant material. Preservation is glycol-based.

The saponins it contains have surfactant properties and are used for mild cleansing products. Typical formulations include facial toners, cleansing products and care for sensitive skin.
Use in food
For food applications, the glycerin-based variant is used. The raw material is intended for the cosmetics and food industries.
