FAQ

Fir Needle Extract (INCI: Abies Sibirica Needle Extract, CAS 91697-89-1) is a botanical extract obtained from the needles of the Siberian fir (Abies sibirica). Bornyl acetate serves as the analytical lead marker. The raw material provides water-soluble plant compounds such as flavonoids, tannins and resin acids.
Production
At CONIUNCTA, the extract is produced using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE), made in Germany. It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each on a water basis. Preservation is glycol-based. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30%. One kilogram of extract corresponds to the constituents of about 35 g of dried or around 220 g of fresh plant material.
