FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Amaranth Extract (INCI: Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract) is a liquid plant extract from the seeds of Amaranthus caudatus. Rutin, a flavonoid glycoside from the polyphenol group, serves as the analytically defined lead marker. CONIUNCTA supplies the raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
Amaranth Extract is produced in Germany (Made in Germany) using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). It is available in three carrier variants: Glycerin, Propylene Glycol and Pentylene Glycol. Across all variants the extract content is around 30%. In the Glycerin variant, purified water serves as the extraction solvent and does not remain as a residual solvent in the final product. One kilogram of extract contains the constituents of about 35 g of dried or around 220 g of fresh plant parts.

It is used in anti-ageing and pro-age formulations as well as in nourishing skin and hair care, for example in face creams, body lotions, hair treatments and serums.
Use in food
For functional foods and beverages, the Glycerin variant is intended. A dosage range of 0.5 to 2% is documented for this purpose.
