Application in cosmetics
For cosmetic formulations a use level of 2 to 5 % is stated; the raw material is suitable for all variants. It brings antioxidant and moisture-binding properties to the formulation, and the polysaccharide fraction supports film-forming textures. Thanks to its good water solubility, the powder can be worked into aqueous phases, for example in moisturising care, hair conditioning and care for mature skin.

For the food industry the raw material is suitable for all variants. The readily water-soluble powder can be worked into aqueous food formulations; the marker is vitamin C (ascorbic acid). The dried baobab fruit pulp is approved as a Novel Food in the EU.
