Bearberry powder extract (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) is a water-soluble plant extract with a drug-to-extract ratio of 10:1 and the lead marker arbutin. Its INCI name is Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract. Bearberry (Uva Ursi) provides a fine powder extract for the cosmetics and food industry.
Production
The raw material is obtained as a powder extract at a ratio of 10:1 and is unpreserved. The 10:1 ratio means that around ten parts of plant material are reduced to one part of extract. It is supplied as a golden-yellow to light-brown, fine powder and carries the note Designed in Germany. Certified organic material is preferred as the starting product; the botanical origin lies in Europe and the rest of the world.
