Birch extract (INCI: Betula Alba Leaf Extract) is an aqueous plant extract from the birch tree (Betula alba, CAS 84012-15-7). The lead markers are the flavonoids, calculated as hyperoside. CONIUNCTA supplies birch extract as a liquid raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
The extract is obtained using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is Made in Germany. It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol and pentylene glycol. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30 %. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of roughly 35 g of dried or about 220 g of fresh plant material. Preservation is glycol-based.
