Bitter apricot powder extract 10:1 is a powdered kernel extract of the bitter apricot (Prunus armeniaca var. amara). The INCI name is Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Extract, and the declared lead marker is chlorogenic acid. The product is supplied as a fine powder with a drug-to-extract ratio of 10:1.
Production
The apricot kernel is concentrated into a fine powder with a drug-to-extract ratio of 10:1 and filled without preservatives. The extract is "Designed in Germany". Material from certified organic cultivation is preferred as the starting material; the origin covers Europe and the rest of the world.

Use in cosmetics
In cosmetic formulations the extract is typically used at 2 to 5 %. Thanks to its good water solubility, it can be incorporated into water-based formulations such as serums, toners and emulsions. Typical fields of use are skin-caring and antioxidant-oriented formulations built around the lead marker chlorogenic acid.
Use in food
The raw material is in principle also intended for food applications. Because bitter apricot kernels contain amygdalin, regulatory requirements apply to food use. Dosage limits and labelling obligations must be checked by the user on their own responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Is bitter apricot powder extract water-soluble?
Yes. The powder extract is readily soluble in water and is therefore suitable for the water phase of cosmetic formulations.
What use concentration is recommended?
A use concentration of 2 to 5 % is intended for cosmetic applications. The exact dosage depends on the formulation and the target product.
Is the extract vegan and preserved?
The extract is vegan and is supplied unpreserved. It should be stored dry between 10 and 30 °C in the original sealed container; the shelf life is then 24 months.
Which methods are used to test microbiological purity?
The microbiological values are determined in accordance with ISO 21149, ISO 16212, ISO 17516 and ISO 18415, among others. Specified and non-specified microorganisms are not detectable.
Which documents does CONIUNCTA provide?
A technical data sheet (TDS), safety data sheet (SDS) and certificate of analysis (CoA) are available. Prices, volume tiers and documents are available after login; B2B terms on request.
