Butterfly Orchid Extract (INCI: Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract) is an aqueous plant extract obtained from the indoor orchid Phalaenopsis amabilis, one of the world's most popular orchid genera. The extract is used as a cosmetic raw material for moisturizing formulations and is free from essential oils and therefore free from declarable fragrance allergens.
Production
The extract is produced with CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and is made in Germany. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is approximately 30%. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of around 35 g of dried or around 220 g of fresh plant parts. Three carrier variants are available: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each combined with aqua.
