Water Navelwort Extract (Centella Asiatica Extract) is a botanical liquid extract obtained from Centella asiatica, also known as Gotu Kola, Tiger Grass or pennywort. The raw material carries the INCI name Centella Asiatica Extract (CAS 84696-21-9) and contains the characteristic triterpenoids asiaticoside and madecassoside. CONIUNCTA supplies the extract as a raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.

It is available in three carrier variants: based on Glycerin, Propylene Glycol or Pentylene Glycol. The extract content is around 30% regardless of the variant. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of approx. 30 g of dried plant parts. Certified organic raw material is preferred; sourcing covers Europe and other regions.

The raw material has astringent properties and is used in formulations for mature skin (anti-aging), in balancing care, in cica formulations and in products for sensitive skin. All variants are suitable for cosmetic applications; the raw material complies with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
Application in Food
The Glycerin variant is intended for food applications. The ingredients according to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 are listed in the section "Composition (1169/2011)". Suitability for the specific intended use and the regulatory status must be verified by the user.
