Chaga Extract (INCI: Inonotus Obliquus Extract, CAS 223749-81-3) is an aqueous plant extract from the medicinal mushroom Inonotus obliquus, which grows on birch trees. The extract contains betulin from the birch, melanin and beta-glucans; betulinic acid serves as the primary marker. As Inonotus Obliquus Extract, it is used in cosmetic formulations.
Production
CONIUNCTA obtains Chaga Extract using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and manufactures it Made in Germany. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is about 30%; 1 kg of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of about 35 g of dried or about 220 g of fresh plant material. The extract is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each water-based.
