Chaste Tree Oil Extract (INCI: Vitex Agnus Castus Extract) is the oil-soluble extract form of Vitex agnus-castus. The lipophilic extract carries casticin as its primary marker and contains iridoid glycosides such as agnuside and aucubin. It is supplied as a liquid and serves as a raw material for the cosmetics and food industries (CAS 91722-47-3).
Production
The extract is obtained through CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE), Made in Germany. It is supplied in an oily carrier and available in three variants: jojoba oil, squalane or sunflower oil. The extract content is around 30 percent regardless of the variant. One kilogram of extract contains the lipophilic constituents of approx. 30 grams of dried plant material. Certified organic raw material is preferred.
