Chiretta Extract (INCI: Swertia Chirata Extract) is a liquid plant extract from Swertia chirata, also known as chirata or chirayita. The plant contains secoiridoid glycosides such as swertiamarin and amarogentin, along with xanthones. As a cosmetic raw material, Chiretta Extract (Swertia Chirata Extract) is available in several carrier variants.
Manufacturing
The extract is produced in Germany using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30 %. Available carriers on an aqueous base are glycerin, propylene glycol (Propylene Glycol) and pentylene glycol (Pentylene Glycol). Preservation is glycol based.
