FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Clove powder extract 10:1 is a powdered plant extract from the clove (Eugenia Caryophyllus, botanically Syzygium aromaticum). Its characteristic profile is defined by the lead marker eugenol. INCI: Eugenia Caryophyllus Flower Extract, CAS 84961-50-2. The clove extract comes as a fine powder and is suitable for cosmetic as well as food and functional food formulations.
Production
The extract is obtained at a 10:1 ratio with ethanol and water and dried to a powder on a maltodextrin matrix. Production follows the gentle AVE process (Adaptive Vacuum Extraction). Development and specification take place in Germany (Designed in Germany). According to the certificate of analysis (CDS), the lead marker eugenol is present at an indicative 50 to 350 mg/g.

Application in cosmetics
The general use concentration is 2 to 5%. Typical formulations are oral and dental care, deodorants and warming body care products. In cosmetic databases, eugenol is listed with the functions antioxidant, UV-absorbing and skin conditioning. Eugenol has a sensitising potential, so the concentration must be managed in line with IFRA requirements. Stability tests under light exposure are recommended.
Application in food
Clove powder extract is suitable for food applications and is used for the natural flavouring of baked goods, meat products and beverages. For functional food and beverages, the CDS specifies a use level of 0.5 to 2%. Suitability for the respective formulation should be verified as part of your own product development.
