CONIUNCTA® PRO CPO-51 Truffle Oil Extract is the lipophilic extract form of the summer truffle (Tuber aestivum). The INCI name is Tuber Aestivum (Truffle) Extract, and free amino acids serve as the primary marker. The oil extract binds the characteristic truffle aroma in an oil-soluble matrix, which makes it suitable for lipophilic cosmetic formulations and aroma oils.
Manufacturing
CONIUNCTA® produces the extract in Germany (Made in Germany) using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). The raw material is available in three carrier variants: jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), squalane or sunflower oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil). The extract content is around 30 %. One kilogram of extract contains the lipophilic constituents of about 35 g of dried or about 220 g of fresh plant material. Preservation is oil based.

Use in cosmetics
The recommended use concentration is 2 to 5 %. Thanks to its good oil solubility, the extract can be processed into facial oils, body oils, balms and other anhydrous or oil-rich formulations. CONIUNCTA® assigns the raw material to formulation concepts such as plump skin appearance, elasticity and intensifying care.
Use in food
For food applications, the sunflower oil carrier variant is intended; it is declared accordingly as an ingredient. Summer truffles and truffle oils are established as flavouring ingredients in gourmet food. The amount used depends on the desired aroma intensity.

Is Tuber Aestivum Extract water soluble or oil soluble?
The extract is readily soluble in oil and intended for anhydrous or oil-rich formulations. It is not water soluble.
