FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Cymbidium Orchid Extract (INCI: Cymbidium Grandiflorum Flower Extract) is an aqueous flower extract from the large-flowered Himalayan orchid Cymbidium grandiflorum. The extract contains flavonoids, mucilage and aromatic compounds and is supplied as a raw material for the cosmetics industry. CONIUNCTA offers the liquid extract in three carrier variants for hydrophilic formulations.
Production
The extract is produced in Germany (Made in Germany) using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). Three carrier variants are available: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each on an aqueous base. Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30 percent. 1 kg of extract contains the hydrophilic or lipophilic constituents of approximately 35 g of dried or approximately 220 g of fresh plant parts. The plant material comes from Europe and the rest of the world; certified organic material is preferred.

Application in cosmetics
The recommended use level is 0.5 to 3 percent. Thanks to its good water solubility, the extract can be incorporated directly into aqueous phases. Typical applications are facial care, body lotions and luxury perfumery, in particular moisturizing and conditioning formulations as well as products in the anti-aging segment. The extract is free from essential oils and therefore free from declarable fragrance allergens. The product is intended exclusively for the cosmetics industry.
Frequently asked questions
What is Cymbidium Grandiflorum Flower Extract?
Cymbidium Grandiflorum Flower Extract is the INCI name for the extract from the flowers of the cymbidium orchid, a large-flowered Cymbidium species from the Himalayan region. The substance groups it contains are flavonoids, mucilage and aromatic compounds.
In which carriers is Cymbidium Orchid Extract available?
In three variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol. All variants are readily water-soluble and glycol-based preserved. A separate TDS is available for each variant.
What is the use level?
0.5 to 3 percent in the final formulation is recommended.
Is the extract vegan and suitable for food?
The extract is vegan. It is not suitable for food; the product is intended exclusively as a raw material for the cosmetics industry.
How should Cymbidium Orchid Extract be stored and what is its shelf life?
