One sample per customer and article; for PRO extracts the sample is considerably smaller than 250 g (approx. 50 g). With the sample you receive a code that credits €49 towards your next purchase. Indigo Extract (INCI: Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf Extract) is an aqueous plant extract obtained from the leaves of the dye plant Indigofera tinctoria. The leaves contain indican (indoxyl glucoside), the lead marker according to the CDS. Before synthetic production, indigo was the most important natural source of blue dye.
Production
At CONIUNCTA, the extract is obtained using Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and produced in Germany (Made in Germany). The extract content is around 30% regardless of the carrier variant. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of approx. 30 g of dried plant material. Available carriers are glycerin as well as water with propylene glycol or pentylene glycol; no preservatives are added, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol has an antimicrobial effect.

Use in cosmetics
The typical use concentration is 2 to 5%. The content of fragrance allergens according to Annex III of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 cannot be derived from the available data; analysis on request (GC-MS or HPLC). In cosmetics, Indigo Extract is used in hair care. Typical formulations include decorative cosmetics and natural cosmetics. As a cosmetic raw material, Indigo Extract falls under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and is suitable for cosmetic applications in all carrier variants.
Use in food
For food applications, Indigo Extract is considered a novel food under Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. Authorization is required and is currently not available. The raw material is therefore supplied as a cosmetic raw material.
