Pale coneflower extract is an aqueous plant extract from the pale coneflower (Echinacea pallida). The raw material carries the INCI name Echinacea Pallida Extract (CAS 97281-15-7) and is characterized by the marker cichoric acid. It contains alkylamides, polysaccharides and echinacosides. Compared with purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), Echinacea pallida shows a higher echinacoside profile.
Production
The extract is manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany) and obtained by Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE). It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol and pentylene glycol. The extract content is around 30 % across all variants. One kilogram of extract contains the hydrophilic components of approx. 30 g of dried plant material. No preservatives are added; propylene glycol and pentylene glycol have an antimicrobial effect.
