FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Papaya Leaf Extract is an aqueous plant extract from the leaves of the papaya (Carica papaya). The lead marker is the proteolytic enzyme papain, INCI Carica Papaya (Papaya) Leaf Extract, CAS 84012-30-6. The raw material is used in enzymatic cosmetic formulations.
Production
The extract is obtained using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany). It is available in three carrier variants: glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol, each on an aqueous base. The extract content is approximately 30 %. 1 kg of extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of approximately 35 g of dried or approximately 220 g of fresh plant parts.
Specification

The aqueous extract is free from essential oils and therefore free from declarable fragrance allergens. Enzyme activity is pH-dependent, which should be taken into account during formulation.
Use in food
The glycerin variant is suitable for food applications. The ingredient designation under EU food information law is glycerin or (water, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol), depending on the chosen carrier.
