FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Propolis Extract is a liquid extract of propolis (bee resin) with the INCI name Propolis Extract and the CAS number 85665-41-4. The extract contains flavonoids such as pinocembrin and galangin, phenolic acids and polysaccharides. CONIUNCTA supplies Propolis Extract as a raw material for the cosmetics and food industries.
Production
The extract is obtained using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and produced in Germany (Made in Germany). Three carrier variants are available: glycerin, pentylene glycol or propylene glycol, each on an aqueous basis (Aqua). The extract content is approximately 30 percent. One kilogram of CONIUNCTA extract contains the hydrophilic constituents of approximately 35 grams of dried or approximately 220 grams of fresh raw material.

The aqueous extract is free of essential oils and therefore free of declarable fragrance allergens. All carrier variants are suitable for cosmetic applications. The raw material falls under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
Use in food
The glycerin variant is intended for food applications. Depending on the variant, the ingredient name under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 is glycerin or water, Propylene Glycol or Pentylene Glycol. The dosage depends on the respective formulation.
