Use in cosmetics
In cosmetic formulations, seaweed powder extract is incorporated into the aqueous phase at a use concentration of 2 to 5 %. The alginates it contains are film-forming and moisture-binding, while the extract itself has mineralizing properties. Typical fields of use are body wraps, firming care products and thalasso concepts.
Use in food
The raw material is suitable for food applications in all variants. As Fucus vesiculosus contains natural iodine, precise dosing is required and the applicable maximum daily amounts for iodine must be observed. Novel Food compliance must be documented for the respective algae species.
