Vervain Extract (INCI: Verbena Officinalis Extract, CAS 84961-67-1) is a liquid plant extract from common vervain (Verbena officinalis). The lead marker is the iridoid glycoside verbenalin. The raw material is available on a water base with glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol and should not be confused with lemon verbena (Aloysia citrodora).
Manufacturing
The extract is obtained using CONIUNCTA's Adaptive Vacuum Extraction (AVE) and manufactured in Germany (Made in Germany). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is around 30%. One kilogram of extract contains the constituents of about 35 g of dried or 220 g of fresh plant parts. Available carriers are glycerin, propylene glycol or pentylene glycol on an aqueous base.
