FAQ
FAQ
Please read our FAQ.
Wound Clover Oil Extract (INCI: Anthyllis Vulneraria Flower Extract) is the lipophilic extract from the flowers of wound clover (Anthyllis vulneraria). The primary marker is saponins (total). This oil-soluble raw material can be incorporated directly into the oil phase of cosmetic formulations and is the fat-soluble alternative to aqueous extracts and tinctures.
Manufacturing
CONIUNCTA produces the extract using AVE technology (Adaptive Vacuum Extraction), made in Germany. Three carrier oils are available: jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), squalane or sunflower oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil). Regardless of the variant, the extract content is approximately 30 %. 1 kg of extract contains the lipophilic constituents of approximately 35 g of dried or approximately 220 g of fresh plant material. The raw material originates from Europe and the rest of the world, with material from certified organic cultivation preferred.

Use in cosmetics
The recommended use concentration is 2-5 %. The extract is worked into the oil phase, and all three carrier variants are suitable for cosmetics. Typical product types are rich body oils, balms, lip care, hand creams and after-care products. Formulators use the raw material for nourishing and moisture-supporting profiles, and it is additionally credited with astringent properties. A TDS for each carrier variant, an SDS and claim documentation are provided with the product.
Use in food
For food applications, the sunflower oil variant is intended, and the declarable carrier ingredient is accordingly sunflower oil. The extract is supplied purely technically as a raw material for the food industry. Assessing suitability for the respective end product is the responsibility of the user.
Frequently asked questions
How does the oil extract differ from a wound clover tincture?
A tincture is an alcoholic extract. The CONIUNCTA oil extract, by contrast, is an oil-soluble extract in jojoba oil, squalane or sunflower oil. It dissolves well in oil and is therefore designed for oil phases and anhydrous formulations.
Which carrier oils are available?
Jojoba oil, squalane or sunflower oil. All variants are suitable for cosmetics; for food applications, the sunflower oil variant.
What is the use concentration?
The recommended level is 2-5 %, worked into the oil phase of the formulation.
Is Wound Clover Oil Extract vegan?
Yes, the extract is declared vegan.
How is the extract stored and what is its shelf life?
Stored dry between 10 and 30 °C in the originally sealed container, the shelf life is 24 months. The colour may change during storage. If cloudiness or precipitates form, filtration is sufficient. The quality remains unaffected.
