Astringent plant extracts are characterized by tightening properties, typical of tannin-rich plants. This category comprises 82 raw materials, including classics such as witch hazel, oak bark, grape leaf, sage and lady's mantle as well as green tea, black tea and cistus. In cosmetics, tannins are traditionally used in facial waters, toners and aftershaves, wherever an astringent raw material property is desired.
